Profiterole Recipe

Ingredients:
For the Dough:
1 cup water
100 grams butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
For the Cream Filling:
2 cups milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Sauce:
100 grams dark chocolate
100 ml cream
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a saucepan, bring the water and butter to a boil. Once the butter is melted, add the salt.
Add the flour all at once and stir until the mixture forms a smooth dough that pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat.
Let the dough cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth.
Bake the Dough:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
Using a spoon or piping bag, drop small mounds of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. After baking, leave the oven door slightly open to let them cool.
Prepare the Cream Filling:
In a saucepan, heat the milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until it comes to a boil.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and flour. Gradually add a little hot milk to the egg mixture and whisk quickly. Then return this mixture to the saucepan.
Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Prepare the Chocolate Sauce:
In a small saucepan, melt the dark chocolate and cream together over low heat, stirring until smooth.
Fill the Profiteroles:
Once cooled, make a small hole in the bottom of each profiterole or cut a slit in the side. Fill with the prepared cream.
Serve:
Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the filled profiteroles and serve immediately.
